Terms of Service

Last updated 22 June 2026

These terms govern your use of Unovote. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. We have kept them as plain as we can.

1. Acceptance

By creating an account, embedding the widget, or otherwise using Unovote, you agree to these terms. If you are using Unovote for an organisation, you confirm you are authorised to accept these terms on its behalf. You must be able to form a binding contract to use the service.

2. The service

Unovote is a hosted, embeddable idea board with conviction voting. You curate a small set of competing ideas, participants allocate a fixed pool of coins across them, and you can send decision updates to the people who voted. Unovote is an early-stage product and is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We may add, change, or remove features.

3. Accounts

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for activity under your account. You agree to provide accurate information. Organisations on the free tier may have up to 20 members, and paid plans up to 50; larger teams can contact us about an extension.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Post or collect unlawful, infringing, or harmful content.
  • Manipulate votes, abuse the verification flow, or submit data you have no right to submit.
  • Scrape, overload, reverse engineer, or interfere with the service or its security.
  • Use Unovote to send unsolicited or unlawful communications.

5. Free tier and plans

The free tier lets a small team run one real board with up to five competing ideas. Free-tier boards display Unovote branding on the customer-facing widget, and this branding must remain visible. Plans, limits, and pricing may change; we will give reasonable notice of material changes to paid plans.

6. Your content and your participants' data

You own the board content you create. You are responsible for the ideas, descriptions, and decision messages you publish, and for the conduct of the boards you run.

When you collect votes, you decide what to ask of your participants and you control how their data is used; in data-protection terms you are the controller of your participants' data and Unovote acts as your processor. You confirm you have the right to collect participant email addresses and to send them the decision updates they consent to. You are responsible for the content of any decision message sent to your backers.

7. Availability

We aim to keep Unovote running well but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service, particularly at this early stage and on the free tier. We may perform maintenance or change infrastructure as needed.

8. Intellectual property

Unovote, including its software, design, and brand, is owned by us. These terms do not grant you any right to our intellectual property beyond using the service as intended. You retain ownership of your own content.

9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Unovote is provided without warranties of any kind, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of data or profits arising from your use of the service. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms excludes rights that cannot be excluded under the mandatory consumer laws that apply to you.

10. Termination

You can stop using Unovote at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms or use the service in a way that risks harm. Deleting a board is permanent and removes its ideas, allocations, and participants.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law applicable to the operator of the service and your relationship with us, subject to any mandatory consumer or privacy laws that apply to you where you live.

12. Changes and contact

We may update these terms as the product evolves and will change the "last updated" date above when we do. For any question about these terms, contact hello@unovote.com.
